Yesterday we had a Capitol Hill Easter, made complete by several of our good friends. I worried that being so far away from our families would make holidays difficult or seem less real, but yesterday our little house was filled with laughter, good friends and good food - which is the true recipe for a perfect holiday.
I think I fail as a photographer because I didn't take any pictures of the people who came to celebrate with us. I did snap a few pictures of our set up just before dinner, though. Also, it might be worth noting that this is only the second time we've ever used our china since being married. I need to pull it out more!

I made the same carrot cake that I made for Tasha's shower last summer - it is my favorite carrot cake ever. Also, spritz cookies are the greatest because they look like way more work than they actually are. I hope you all had a happy Easter as well!
