One of the main functions of many blogs is just to brag, right? But I'm not tooting my own horn today, instead I'm going to tell you about two awesome guys who have had recent success and deserve some recognition.
My younger brother Anders has had a really fantastic Senior year, and is getting ready to graduate in a few weeks. He dominated the ACT (got a perfect 36 on the math portion!) has placed in Academic Decathlon competitions (another family dec-athlete!) was drum major in the marching band, was named Bingham's Music Sterling Scholar - the list goes on and on, and now he has another accolade to add!
His financial literacy teacher, Andy Evans, entered an essay Anders wrote into the InvestWrite Spring 2013 competition on both the state and national levels. Anders placed first for the state of Utah, and tenth nationally in the high school division (there were about 7500 entries submitted!)
Anders plans to serve a mission in the fall and afterward will be attending BYU.
I also have to brag a little for my dear husband, who has been soaring through Physical Therapy school. He finished his second semester with a 4.0! He had an anatomy lab which he really excelled at, earning a 94% on the final practical and acing his written anatomy final with a perfect 100%!
He has also been offered a spot in a summer scholarship program, assisting his professors around the office and labs a little each week. I am so proud of him, he has been working and studying so hard and it is wonderful to see it paying off.
So if you see either of these two go-getters, give them a pat on the back.
